Your Questions Answered

You understandably must have many questions. Dr Suhail Rashid has answered the most common questions below.

Composite Bonding and Composite Veneers are two names used to describe the same treatment. It involves Dr Rashid carefully and artistically placing composite resin material over the teeth to create a new smile.

Composite Bonding/Composite Veneers involves Dr Rashid carefully and artistically placing composite resin material over the teeth surface to improve the shape and size creating a perfect smile.

Composite Bonding is artistically designed and shaped for every individual patient to reveal a beautiful smile.

On average they last about 5 years largely dependent on how the individual patient cares for their teeth daily at home and whether they attend for regular dental 6 -assessments and hygiene appointments.

Once your treatment has been completed, it is recommended to attend 6-monthly dental assessments and see the hygienist regularly to make sure your gums and smile remain healthy.

Bonding does not require any filling or drilling of the teeth so it avoids damage to the teeth.

Another bonus is Composite Bonding does not require any local anaesthetic injections so the procedure is totally pain free.

This will depend on the level of crowding and crookedness of your teeth.

If the crowding is minor then Dr Rashid can use Bonding to create a beautiful straight smile without the need to straighten the teeth before.

However if the level of crowding and crookedness is moderate to high then teeth straightening such as Invisalign will be required prior proceeding with Composite Bonding.

At the consultation stage Dr Rashid will assess your teeth and explain the best treatment plan for you to achieve your dream smile and meet your expectations.

Composite Bonding is an investment which can improve the size, shape and colour of your teeth to give you your dream smile.

The investment for artistically sculpted Composite Bonding/Composite Veneers is from £400 per tooth.

Porcelain Veneers and Composite Bonding can both improve the shape, size and colour of your teeth.

Composite bonding is completed in surgery by Dr Rashid without the need for a ceramist. Dr Rashid would carefully and artistically place composite resin material over the teeth surface to improve the shape and size creating a perfect smile.

A Porcelain Veneer is a thin piece of ceramic, as thin as a contact-lens which is handmade by a skilled ceramist which is then glued to the tooth surface to improve the shape, size and colour of the tooth.

Because Porcelain Veneers require a ceramist to make them, it usually requires 2-3 dental appointments to complete treatment. On the other hand Composite Bonding is usually completed in one appointment.

Porcelain Veneers last on average for 10 years where as Composite Bonding lasts between 5-6 years on average.
